I’m an experienced design-led team leader who enjoys solving complex problems and creating enjoyable experiences.
The core of improving any user experience in the physical or digital world is to first understand and identify the problem or point of friction.
Finding and agreeing on the problem is the first hurdle of any workshop or discovery session. With all projects, I aim to create value and have an impact.
Over my career, I have worked on a wide range of projects and brands. My skills include interactive design, strategy, prototyping, user experience design, user interface design, information architecture, mobile design, product design, team leadership and a sprinkling of front-end development.
I’m interested in clean, minimalist and enjoyable UX & UI solutions.
I truly believe that variety is the spice of life. I experience and travel as much as possible. I have an unhealthy addiction to Japan, it's way of life, nuances, and weirdness.
I have many influences and likes but my biggest growing up was Michael Palin and his travel shows on the BBC. I respect many people but have an affinity for Dieter Rams, Hayao Miyazaki, Masashi Wakui and Takashi Murakami.
The best advice I could give a younger me or other designers would be to spend as little time looking at a screen as possible.
See the world, experience stuff.
